Job Title: Junior Network Engineer
Location: Remote | Occasional client visits across the UK
Package: Up to £28k annual salary
Way of working: Average of 40 hours per week. 4 week rolling rota – 1 out of 4 weeks being on call (Friday to Thursday) 7am to 5pm

Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated network engineer to join their team. You will play a pivotal role in implementing, maintaining, and supporting their customers’ LAN, WAN, SD-WAN and WLAN networks.
This is a multifaced role divided into two primary spheres: Project developments and IT Support with fulfilling ancillary tasks beyond core duties on occasions. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless operation and continuous improvement of clients’ network infrastructures.
Project Deployments:
  • Travelling within the UK and mainland Europe to work on customer sites.
  • On-Site collaboration with customers, adapting to different environments.
  • Adapting to customer schedules with project work being completed during off-hours.
  • Potential for multiple days away from home – Usually not exceeding 7 consecutive nights.
  • Potential for longer shifts, with overtime compensated as time off in lieu.
IT Support:
  • Remote monitoring, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving network issues.
  • On-site Support, including prompt hardware component replacements.
  • Monitoring network performance, recommending improvements to clients.
About You:
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP, application, transport, and network protocols as well as relevant work experience in an IT related role
  • CCENT, CCNA, CCNP are desirable but not essential as training and further education can be offered.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team, effective communication with diverse stakeholders.
  • Driving licence is essential.
Work Hours & Location:
Our client operates 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year. Due to the nature of their business this means there can be no fixed hours of work or breaks.
As network engineer it is expected that you will work an average of 40 hours per week.
The current shift pattern will be on a 4-week rolling rota which include 1 week out of 4 being on call (Friday to Thursday) on-shift hours are 07:00 – 17:00
The network engineer will be based from home with expectations to visit the clients head office in North Yorkshire as well as customer premises throughout the UK.
