JOB TITLE: Finance Manager
LOCATION: Salisbury – office based (some home working)
PACKAGE: £25 – 28 per hour
WAY OF WORKING: Mostly office based

My client is a family owned and highly manufacturing company with a superb reputation in their industry.
THE OPPORTUNITY:
As Finance Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the company's day to day financial operations. This is a key role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced SME environment and is familiar with managing both domestic and international (European) trading operations, including currency considerations, cross-border VAT, and international logistics support

THE OPPORTUNITY:
As Finance Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the company's day to day financial operations. Key responsibilities:
- Financial Management & Reporting
- Prepare monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and budget analyses
- Provide insightful reporting, particularly around sector-specific profitability and international sales performance
- Manage year-end close and liaise with external accountants
- Compliance & Controls
- Ensure full compliance with UK statutory requirements, VAT, and payroll
- Manage cross-border VAT compliance for EU sales and purchases
- Implement and maintain effective internal financial controls and procedures
- Operational Finance
- Responsible for purchase ledger, sales ledger, payroll, and banking operations
- Manage product costings and stock control
- Support supplier negotiations and financial logistics, especially for European and food service clients
- Contribute to ERP implementation and process improvements
Key Skills required:
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant [TH1]
- At least 3 years of experience in an SME finance role, ideally with exposure to manufacturing, food production, or FMCG
- Experience of international trading, ideally within the EU
- A good working knowledge of UK accounting standards, VAT, and experience of cross-border compliance within the EU.
- Excellent Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail, self-motivated, and commercially astute
- An excellent communicator with good time management skills
- Able to understand complex financial issues
