JOB TITLE:                                 Network Operations Engineer
LOCATION:                                Chester, Cheshire
SALARY:                                      £30,000 - £35,000 per annum DOE

Fully funded training & Certification support| private healthcare after 12 months | Company laptop and mobile | Incremental salary increases linked to certification progress

WAY OF WORKING:              Full Time| Office-based (First 6 months) | Permanent


THE BUSINESS:
An award winning and exciting CISCO Network and Cyber security company based in Chester is looking for a Network Operations Engineer to join their fast-growing team. THE Network Operations Engineer OPPORTUNITY:

• Raising, handling, and resolving customer support requests
• Diagnosing and resolving network and security issues where possible
• Escalating incidents to senior staff
• Monitoring network and security systems for incidents and potential problems
• Supporting customer project work, configurations, and installations
• Managing client relationships ensuring exceptional customer service
• Preparing reports and customer proposals for Technical Director review
• Developing customer network security policies and carrying out vulnerability assessments



YOUR KEY SKILLS:
  • Previous experience from a Network Operations Engineer role or Infrastructure engineer or IT Support and wanting to build their career who has ambitions to one day become a Network Manager or Network Architect.
  • Have CCNA Certification and have ambitions to achieve a CCNP certification
  • Must have a base knowledge of IP networks and information systems
  • Knowledge of information security concepts and solutions
  • Ability to work independently without supervision
  • Ability to build effective customer relationships
  • Be able to guide and advise people with confidence
  • Prioritise workload
  • Valid UK Driving License

Technologies:
  • Network security technologies (firewalls, network access control, IPS/IDS, DNS security, content filtering)
  • Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) technologies
  • Endpoint, email, cloud and mobile security technologies
  • LAN, WLAN and SD-WAN technologies
  • Cisco network and security technologies (Firepower NGFW/NGIPS, AMP, Umbrella, Meraki, ISE)
