Job description
Location: Flexible (Home-based with regular travel to Swindon)
Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 (National Pay Range)
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Arrangement: Hybrid – Home working with occasional office visits

THE DATA ENGINEER OPPORTUNITY
As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering modern, cloud-native data solutions. Your work will enable advanced analytics and support strategic decision-making across the organisation. Key responsibilities include:
- Designing, building, and maintaining data engineering solutions using Microsoft technologies (Azure, Fabric, Dynamics 365).
- Developing automated, scalable data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and delivery.
- Implementing data modelling and warehousing best practices to support analytics and BI.
- Driving data governance, security, and compliance initiatives.
- Collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver tailored solutions.
YOUR KEY SKILLS
We’re looking for someone with:
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar cloud-first data role.
- Expertise in Microsoft Azure data services (Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks) and Microsoft Fabric.
- Strong SQL skills for managing large-scale datasets.
- Experience integrating Microsoft Dynamics 365 data solutions.
- Knowledge of data modelling, warehousing, and ETL/ELT principles.
- Familiarity with data governance and security best practices.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python or similar).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
