Location: Swindon, Wiltshire

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 dependant on experience

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Working Arrangement: Office-based with occasional out-of-hours work for maintenance

THE SENIOR IT TECHNICIAN OPPORTUNITY

As a Senior IT Technician, you will play a pivotal role in managing and maintaining the organisation’s IT infrastructure. Reporting to the Head of IT, Transformation and Facilities, you will oversee day-to-day IT operations, ensuring security, continuity, and optimal performance. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing cyber and physical security of IT infrastructure, including vulnerability and patch management.
  • Overseeing network and server infrastructure, access management, and ticketing system support from first to third line.
  • Developing and testing the IT Business Continuity Plan to ensure resilience.
  • Handling IT asset management, including procurement, lifecycle management, and inventory control.
  • Administering SaaS business applications and managing company mobile devices, including MDM.

YOUR KEY SKILLS

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience as a Senior IT Technician or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory administration, including Azure and M365 integration.
  • Expertise in network and firewall management, including WAN IPsec tunnels and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Microsoft Hyper-V, VM creation, and backup/restore procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 core applications (SharePoint, Exchange, OneDrive).
  • Familiarity with Datto backup software.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and solve problems effectively.
  • Experience supporting hybrid working arrangements and managing junior staff.
