JOB TITLE:                                   Head of Development

LOCATION:                                 Kemble

SALARY:                                       £60,000 - £65,000

WAY OF WORKING:               Full Time | Hybrid | Permanent

THE BUSINESS:
C4S Search is pleased to be working with a leading SaaS provider in fleet management, offering solutions that improve driver and vehicle safety.

THE HEAD OF DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITY:
Lead the software development function – driving technical strategy, team performance, and delivery excellence through Agile and DevOps practices. Key focus is on improving development efficiency using DORA metrics.
  • Leadership & Strategy: Build and guide high-performing teams; align development with business goals; champion Agile/DevOps.
  • Software Delivery: Oversee Agile execution, CI/CD pipelines, and promote fast, reliable software releases.
  • Performance Management: Use DORA metrics to measure delivery effectiveness and drive improvements.
  • Technical Oversight: Ensure quality architecture, code standards, and evaluate emerging technologies.
  • Team Development: Mentor, recruit, and support team growth through reviews, training, and workshops.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with Product, QA, UX, and Leadership.
YOUR KEY SKILLS:
  • 5+ years in a technical leadership role
  • Strong Agile & DevOps expertise
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality software
  • SaaS or enterprise software background (desirable)
  • Familiar with Jira, Confluence, GitHub/Azure DevOps (desirable)
  • Knowledge of cloud, microservices, and data security (desirable)
  • Experience with DORA metrics (desirable)
