JOB TITLE:                                       SYSTEMS ANALYST

LOCATION:                                     Gloucester

SALARY:                                          £35,000 

WAY OF WORKING:                     8am – 5pm

  • Assist with IS Technical Projects:
  • Collaborate with the project team to ensure successful completion of assigned projects.
  • Responsible for preparing the necessary technical documentation for each project.
  • Support the development of project proposals and provide regular updates to the PMO and IS Management.
  • Build and Maintain Server Infrastructure:
  • Configure and maintain Windows Enterprise servers, including the installation of operating systems and services for both Windows and Linux.
  • Ensure compliance with all security regulations and standards during the build process.
  • Build physical rack servers and create VMware servers.
  • Provide Technical Support and Administration:
  • Provide L2 and L3 support for IS infrastructure, systems, and platforms.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex problems of servers, middleware, and database systems, recommend improvements to avoid re-occurrence of the same problem.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and administration of data centre hardware, performing changes, support, and decommissioning of local physical and VM servers when requested.
  • Assist in the administration of Unix/Linux systems.
  • Develop scripts to automate daily administrative tasks and customized scripts for resolving incidents and problems to prevent recurrence.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation with other IS personnel.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a capability to influence and challenge peers & leadership. Able to engage effectively at all levels within the organisation.
  • Experience and skills in cross-functional project and programme management.
  • Ability to concurrently project manage a diverse list of items.
  • Flexibility, ability to change focus and adopt to changing corporate priorities.
  • Resilient and able to manage ambiguity and complexity.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Rigour and attention to detail.
  • Technical Writing Skills. (Specifically related to IS projects)
  • Working knowledge of various Windows Server Operating systems.
  • System administration of Linux, including patching and packaging.
  • Experience in various IT/IS disciplines, technologies, and platforms (Infrastructure, databases and mobility).
  • Knowledge of aerospace business.
  • Application of structured transformation / change / project ways of working in fluid / fast changing situations (i.e. not just program managing somewhere that is already very structured).
  • Time Management skills.
  • Skill in Microsoft Office product suite, including PowerPoint, Excel & Word.
  • Working knowledge of VMWare, NetApp and Citrix.
  • Experience with Monitoring tool solutions.
  • ITIL Foundations, Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or similar (preferred).
  • Knowledge of French Language is a plus.
